Malaysia to provide tech help for Halal zones
Penang International Halal Hub (PIHH) Malaysia has announced to provide technical advice and consultancy on establishment of Halal industrial parks in Pakistan. A memorandum of understanding was signed the other day in Lahore between Minister for Trade and Religious Affairs of Penang State, Malaysia and Chairman of PIHH, Haji Abdul Malik Kassim and Secretary General and CEO of Halal Development Council (HDC), Pakistan, Asad Sajjad.
Concerns mount over French Halal meat procedures
The lack of a central body in France to oversee the authenticity of Halal meat has made some experts doubt that animals have been slaughtered following the correct Islamic procedures. Estimates of the amount of meat labelled Halal that does not meet the strict religious standards range from 40 to as high as 80 percent.

That is the script for your standard shampoo commercial. Cut to the television spot for Sunsilk’s Lively Clean & Fresh shampoo. Another young, smiling woman is the star, but there is not a strand of hair in sight. Her tresses are completely covered by a tudung, the head scarf worn by many Muslim women in Malaysia.

Malaysia is considering a slate of novel initiatives in protecting the Muslim consumers. Days after a regional leader called for labelling of haram products the country’s industry minister has announced that the government may introduce a bar-code system, the Business Times reported.
