World Halal Forum 2012 - Cultivating a Universal Halal Lifestyle

The 7th World Halal Forum (WHF) started on 2 April with Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj Mohd Yassin officially launching the annual forum at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The two-day forum attracted the participation of 720 delegates and over 35 speakers. With participants and speakers from over 36 countries, WHF 2012 provides a stirring platform for a stimulating discussion on the USD800 billion worth Halal industry. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hj Mohd Yassin, in his keynote address, praised the World Halal Forum for its efforts in emphasizing on a universal appeal on Halal principles and for leveraging on creative channels like the arts, media and entertainment in spreading good values. Tan Sri Muhyiddin also stated that the new generation of Muslim youths are asking for more value out of Halal and not just mere compliance to its standards. Established in 2006, WHF has since become part of the Malaysian government's 15-year plan to become the world's Halal hub. With this year's theme "INSPIRE, INNOVATE, INVEST", WHF 2012 goes beyond its usual exploration of business perspectives and reached out towards the grassroots with its primary focus on consumer issues, as well as helping the industry's understanding on its beneficial values, to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

MALAYSIA: 400 Foreign Firms Expected For MIHAS 2012 Incoming Buying Mission

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) expects over 400 foreign companies from more than 50 countries to participate in its Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2012's (MIHAS 2012) business matching sessions, the Incoming Buying Mission (IBM). Matrade Trade Promotion and Services Division director Mohd Aminuddin Sham Tajuddin said the top five foreign buyers will be from China, Indonesia, Jordan, the United Kingdom and Taiwan.

 

MALAYSIA: MIHAS 2012 Starts April 4

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) will be organising the ninth Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2012) on April 4-7 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event will showcase more than 500 exhibitors from 29 countries, Matrade Trade Promotion and Services Division director Mohd Aminuddin Sham Tajuddin said. He said MIHAS 2012 continues to be an important platform to search for Halal products and is an important Halal trade fair for the region as well as internationally.

MALAYSIA: World Halal Forum 2012 – Cultivating a Universal Halal Lifestyle

The World Halal Forum (WHF) 2012 happening this 2 – 3 April at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will focus on cultivating a universal appeal on Halal lifestyle, which represents values for both Muslim and non-Muslim consumers. The forum, hosted by the International Halal Integrity Alliance (IHI Alliance), will tackle various issues related, as Halal has transcended food and consumable goods to cover all aspects of the human life irrespective of religion, culture or geographic location. Hajjah Jumaatun Azmi, the Founder-Director of the forum says, “As a growing industry with enormous and still largely untapped potential, the evolution of the Halal industry is moving towards a more holistic values-based direction, which consolidates both Islamic principles and universal values.”

 

MALAYSIA HALAL WEEK 2012: 3 Relevant and Global Halal Events at One Place in One Week

For nearly a decade, Malaysia has been a strategic focal point and thought leader in the global Halal market. Malaysia has established itself to be a moderate and progressive Islamic nation where business leaders, government agencies, scholars, entrepreneurs and industry players gather to collectively discuss, deliberate and plot the direction of the global Halal market. Halal Transformation Programme to bring out shared opportunities for Sarawak industry players

Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) has announced that its third Program Transformasi Halal (PTH) will be held in Kuching Sarawak from 16-18 December. The previous two were held in Gambang and Jeli, which attracted thousands of visitors and industry players. Greater awareness was created of the expanding scope of Halal businesses and the markets that are being grown for Halal products and services, PTH Sarawak will be officiated by Sarawak Chief Minister YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud on Saturday, 17 December 2011 at the Kuching Waterfront. In collaboration with the Sarawak State Government, Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak and Bahagian Pembangunan Usahawan Sarawak, PTH Sarawak will be held over three days carrying the theme “Waves of Sharing Opportunities”. HDC has designed its Halal Transformation Programme as a roadshow that could reach out to those who are keen to participate in the Halal industry in a bigger way.

EuroHalal Market Postponed – A Letter from the Organisers

EUROHALAL MARKET, the European Halal Trade Fair exclusively dedicated to professionals from all Halal sectors, became in a few months the International Halal business platform for professionals from all over the world. U.A.E: Big US Halal food firm launches new lines at SIAL

Midamar Halal Foods, America’s first and largest Halal brand, is exhibiting at the American Pavilion at SIAL Abu Dhabi from November 21-23. It will be introducing new USDA certified Halal organic beef and chicken line. Visitors will also get to sample its making award-winning authentically Greek Halal gyros, and its signature Halal franks. Allfreshco, based in Outsource City Dubai is now distributing Midamar Halal premium beef products to restaurants in places like the Rotana hotels and the Armani cafe. Delegates at SIAL Abu Dhabi will be able to learn more about more than 200 premium Halal food products.

 

Halal meat: International conference on Dec 14, 15

An international conference on promotion of Halal meat will be organised in the city by the Pakistan Agriculture and Meat Company (PAMCO) on December 14 and 15. Delegates from 16 countries will attend the conference. PAMCO Chief Executive Officer Dr Hamid Jalil said the conference was being organised to promote Pakistani products in the international market so that Halal meat exports could be boosted.
