The World Halal Forum Industry Dialogue, a moderated industry dialogue designed to highlight, analyse and resolve Halal industry issues, will hold its third meeting next Monday, 18 September 2006 in Melbourne, Australia, in conjunction with the Australia Halal Trade exhibition.

Organised by Australia Halal Trade Pty Ltd in partnership with KasehDia Sdn Bhd, organisers of The World Halal Forum and publishers of The Halal Journal, the goal of the WHF Industry Dialogue Melbourne is to get to the heart of the issues faced in specific market sectors within Australia.

These issues will then be raised at the Annual World Halal Forum scheduled on 7-9 May 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, and will be used to chart the development of this fast growing lucrative industry.

The upcoming Melbourne event will focus on two key issues facing the industry in Australia, namely the Halal meat and dairy industry as well as Halal standards, auditing and certification.

Australian Shadow Minister for Manufacturing and Export, Richard Dalla-Riva, will be delivering the keynote address at the event, which will boast a strong line-up of speakers and will be attended by a panel of industry experts and professionals.

The sessions will be chaired and moderated by Jumaatun Azmi, editor of The Halal Journal and managing director of KasehDia, organisers of The World Halal Forum, as well as Nordin Abdullah, executive director of KasehDia and Hajj Abdalhamid Evans, director of the International Halal Industry Alliance.

Other panel speakers include Abdul Rahim Saleh of Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS); Jon Hayes, chairman of Halal committee of Australia Meat Industry Council (AMIC); David Jones of Meat & Livestock Australia Ltd (MLA); Muhammad A. Rahman of Australia Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC); Che Hassan Pahmi Che Mat, director of Halal Hub division, JAKIM, and Dr. Rahim Ghouse of Muslim Community Co-operative Australia (MCCA).
