PCSIR develops halal toiletries for Hajis

LAHORE: A team of scientists from Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) has developed a kit comprising perfume-free toiletries with halal ingredients for intending Haj and Umra pilgrims.

Chairman PCSIR Dr Anwarul Haq said on Monday that since perfumes were prohibited during Haj, the council had developed odourless toiletries consisting of a body lotion, shampoo, soap, lip balm, anti-crack cream and a face wash.

He said that the products contained special herb extracts and were free from fillers, artificial colours and bleaching agents. “The production of these kits has started, and interested entrepreneurs are being contacted,” he added.
