Carotech Invests in New Plant, Reinforces its Leading Position & Largest Producer of Natural Tocotrienol Complex

2006-03-21 - Carotech, Inc.

Edison, New Jersey, March 21st 2006 – Carotech, a MESDAQ listed company, has announced its plan to invest USD 40 Million to build a new plant near a deep-sea port in Lumut, Malaysia, reinforcing it’s leading and largest position in the worldwide supply of natural tocotrienol complex (a potent form of vitamin E).

This product is available in various forms as Carotech’s Tocomin® product range and Tocomin® SupraBioTM respectively.

The new facility represents the greatest single investment Carotech has made since it was founded in 1992. It will be located on a total land area of 32 acres and is part of the Lumut Port Industrial Park. This new facility will primarily increase production capacity for its successful Tocomin® natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex and Caromin® natural palm mixed carotene complex product lines.

In a recent NIH-funded study, Tocomin® was shown to significantly protect the brain from stroke-induced injuries and neurodegeneration. And due to its ability to lower cholesterol levels by inhibiting the production in the liver as well as its ability to reverse arterial blockage in Carotid Stenosis patients, demand for palm tocotrienol complex is growing all over the world.

“This new state-of-the-art facility further strengthens Carotech’s global leadership position in the rapidly increasing market for non-GMO vitamin E (tocotrienols). The combination of our patented technology with the high quality and safety standards enables us to offer natural full spectrum palm tocotrienol complex and palm mixed carotene complex that are tailored to the precise needs of consumers, helping our customers to enter new markets successfully and giving them a significant competitive advantage”, says WH Leong, Vice President, Carotech Inc

Carotech Inc, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carotech Bhd, Malaysia. Carotech, a public listed company in Malaysia (Malaysian Securities Exchange Board under the high-technology / high growth, MESDAQ Board), is the largest producer of tocotrienol in the world via its patented technology. Carotech Bhd is a subsidiary of Hovid Bhd., one of the largest GMP-certified pharmaceutical companies in Malaysia.

For more information about Tocomin® and Caromin® visit www.carotech.net or www.tocotrienol.org. Tocomin® and Caromin® are registered trademarks of Carotech Inc and protected by US Patent : 5,157,132 and other pending patents.
