NewGenn Research, the Suffolk-based disinfectant specialist, is to set up a production facility in Dubai having won Muslim approval for its range of alcohol-free hygiene products.
The Stanton firm develops and manufactures disinfectants for the healthcare, veterinary and food sectors and has been awarded Halal status by the UK Halal Corporation for its product range, which is also cruelty-free and vegetarian.
NewGenn recently completed the UK Trade & Investment’s Passport to Export Programme and has already set up an office in Dubai.
The company’s managing director, Andrew Crowe, said: “We are delighted and honoured to receive this accreditation. Our products clean and disinfect and only contain products which are permitted under Shari’a law. The next stage is to start production in Dubai and sell our products in the Gulf states.”
Ashley Almond, UK T&I trade adviser, added: “NewGenn has used a range of UK Trade & Investment’s services and has achieved strong results in a short space of time.
“Our Passport to Export programme has provided match-funding towards its registration with the Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene. This registration will make NewGenn’s products more attractive to the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern countries.”
Crowe added: “UK Trade and Investment has really helped us develop our export programme, by providing support, advice and financial assistance.”
