The Centre for Islamic Finance at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has received the World's Best Islamic Training Institution Award for 2011.

It received the accolade from CPI Financial's Islamic Business and Finance, a sister publication of The Banker.

The award was received during the Islamic Business and Finance Awards Ceremony held at the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai.

"To have received this honour for the fourth consecutive year reinforces the BIBF's Centre for Islamic Finance's leadership in training, coaching and advising local and international participants in Islamic finance education," said BIBF director Garry Muriwai.

"The award is an acknowledgement of not only our existing Islamic finance curriculum but new programme innovations such as the Advanced Diploma in Islamic Jurisprudence and strong partnerships with esteemed organisations such as Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions and the Waqf Fund (Bahrain).

"The success we enjoy is attributed to the strong support and guidance provided by Bahrain's government," Mr Muriwai added.

"It is a tremendous achievement for the BIBF to be recognised for the fourth year running by the Islamic Business and Finance Awards as the best training institution for the Islamic finance community," said CPI Financial chief operating officer Adam Broom.

"This breaks all records for successive wins across all of the awards we organise and further emphasises the BIBF's position as a leading training provider."
