Globalisation can be described as “a mixture of international, multinational, offshore and global activities (involving) a general progression from the domestic to the global”. One of the pillars of globalisation is lowered barriers in labour movements. Although there are still restrictions on the free movement of labour, especially from developing to developed countries, the fact is there are increasing numbers of migrants in many developed countries, which in turn is causing unease in the host country. This is especially true of Muslims migrants, especially those who have moved to the European Union (EU) countries.
