The Halal Journal Workshop - Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

Filed Under: The Halal Journal Workshops

KasehDia Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading Halal Marketing Consultancy and publisher of The Halal Journal, has initiated a series of one-day Halal training workshops to give local companies a foundational understanding of this market; how to break into it; and how to get maximum benefit from it. These workshops can be tailored accordingly, as required by interested companies.

The first workshop was held in Bangkok, Thailand, and was followed by a customised workshop for Prima Agri Products Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, called the Prima Agri Workshop. The most recent was held on 4th May 2008 in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

The workshop saw an attendance of 80 local participants from the Rembau area, and was graced by major players of the Halal industry. They are Dato’ Jamil Bidin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), Mohd Shukri Abdullah, CEO of the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), Dato’ Jamaluddin Kadir, Managing Director of Prima Agri, and Khairy Jamaluddin, Chairman of the World Halal Forum.

Also present were Dato’ Basheer Hassan Abdul Kader, CEO and Managing Director of Northport, Dato’ Ismee Ismail, Group Managing Director and Head Executive Officer of Tabung Haji, and Dr. Ghazie Ismail, Senior Vice President from HDC.

During the workshop, the representative from Northport, Dato’ Basheer Hassan expressed his interest in the Halal Journal Workshop, and requested a customized workshop to be conducted at Port Klang, as a means of creating awareness and understanding of Halal for employees at Northport, and the locals in the area. He sees this as important as Northport also provides Halal logistics services.

KasehDia expressed their intention of conducting similar workshops in every state within Malaysia, in order to spread the knowledge and expertise in Halal for the development of the industry at a national level.

“We hope to work with HDC to conduct the Halal Journal workshops in every state within Malaysia, in conjunction with the roadshows HDC has been organizing locally. HDC has shown interest in collaborating with us, and we both hope that this will create a bigger impact for awareness at a national level,” said Jumaatun Azmi, KasehDia Managing Director, at the workshop. HDC have been organizing roadshows throughout Malaysia, having made stops at Kedah, Melaka, Pahang, and Sabah; and is planning for a trip to Sarawak next. The HDC Roadshows has been successful thus far; and KasehDia sees this as a good opportunity to have the Halal Journal workshop as a part of the programme.
