Lion City, a 20-minute walk from Bond University, Robina, is all about a huge melting pot. Based on Singaporean cuisine with it mélange of Malay, Chinese and Indian flavours – with a tinge of Western influence – its clientele is as colourful as the food it serves. Gavin, a delightful Singaporean, will be your host along with his sister and his Arabian wife, busily concocting some of the most delectable dishes for you to try. Lion City has a great casual dining atmosphere with batik tablecloths and prints on the walls of good ol’ Singapore. Lunch is when the crowd is primarily Asian. Lion City has lunch specials everyday priced at $6.90 except for the nasi briyani on Saturday’s, which is just over $10.00. Daily lunch specials include delectable dishes such as nasi lemak,laksa and chicken rice, excellent entrees such as roti john, together with corn, chicken and wanton soup, are priced from $4.50. The range of noodle dishes, including the famous char kway teow, starts at $9.60. Main course dishes range from $12.50 for beef or chicken rendang to $16.90 fro sambal udang. Vegetable dishes range from $7.60 - $8.60 and small side dishes like sambal belachan and ikan bilis start at $2.50.
